September second, I was in beautiful Orange County shooting a wedding with Tauran Woo. The day started off with the bride getting ready around 9:00 in the morning. The couple getting married were Vietnamese and before the traditional American ceremony they had a tea ceremony, which is a traditional custom in the Asian cultures. The tea ceremony was held at the groom’s mother’s house where all their close friends and family gathered. I always love attending these ceremonies because you really get a sense of the culture, the traditions, and the sense of family. The colors of their outfits were spectacular and I loved shooting the young couple as they beamed throughout the day.
After the tea ceremony concluded we headed over to Seven Degrees. It’s a very modern wedding venue nestled in Laguna Canyon. This is where the bride got out of the traditional tea ceremony outfit and got dressed in her traditional American white gown. She was absolutely stunning and her groom was obviously smitten over his blushing bride. The ceremony was held outside as the sun set in the west and the weather was typical for Southern California, absolutely perfect. The reception that followed was filled with lots of laughter and dancing, and the guests had an absolute blast. The evening ended with a glittering sparkler farewell as the bride and groom drove off into the moonlight.
